Dear All,
in the device setting of the Com'X200, about the channels setting of the Smartlink, I saw the following list of supported devices:
In this list are embedded Contactor and Impulse Relay. In the user manual I read the Contactor is selected for iACT24 and Impulse Relay is selected for iATL24, for provide the status of the device.
My questions are the following:
1 - Why the others Acti9 devices are not embedded in this list? For example, RCA, Reflex, iOF+SD24, etc...
2 - If Com'X200 was born to do datalogger, especially for the energy, why the contactors and the impulse relay have been embedded in this list?
Thank you for your attention.
BR

Hi Salvatore,
1 - Good question as why we don't have the actual name of the devices such as iACT24. Having said that, on the smartlink, all these devices actually share the same registries, so it doesn't really matter what type of device you install. If you are reading the status of a meter, it will be the same whether you use a Reflex or a iACT.
So as you can see, whether it's the relay, the contactor or the Reflex, if you wanted to send a command of "open" or "close" you would play with register 14201 (for channel 1).
Having said that, if you wanted to make it clearer, you can create your own custom device type of course! 🙂
2 - The reason to your second question is that we have some customers that need to know the status of the breakers as well as how many times it broke, etc.... For example, in Macau, the company in charge of street lighting wanted to know the status of all the breakers for street lighting and get an alarm if one goes down.
We had the same requirement in Hong Kong from a Telco company for the telecommunication stations (they also wanted the automated-closing device), but wanted to know the status, number of times and when it happened last.
Finally, you could use the smartlink also with iEM2xxx meters. Then it's more around the energy! 🙂
Hope this helps!

There is also another reason to use the iACT or iATL :
Each time you create a contactor or a relay, and you assign it to a Smartlink channel,
the Com'X 200 calculate the running hours for this input.
As a consequence, if you know the theorical power of the contactor or the impulse relay you can have
a first approch of the energy consummed by this channel
That's not veray accurate, but it is free of charge !
