Hi my friends:
Our customer replaced a CM4+ ECC meter with a COM'X510, they don't need the CM4 meter any more. They used the same configuration (Ethernet, IP address and Serial setting) from ECC to Com'X510. The serial was 4 wires RS485, so they connected RX+/RX+ to D1+ and RX-/TX- to D0-, and the shield to ground terminal as suggested of our installation guide. the serial comm is set as 9600/none/1. And the devices are 3/4/5 (EI-DMMS-300), 6/7 (PM810), and 8(Intellislot), 2/3/4/5/6/7/8 are slave ID. They found that they can barely communicate with EI-DMMS-300 meters. We can use Modbus tester to read Registers from EI-DMMS-300 meters, but not PM810 and Intellislot. All the meters were communicating with the ECC card before. We have tried to just leave one PM810 meter in Com'X and delete all other meters, changed baud rate, parity, and address, we just couldn't get it communicate with the PM810. Can you please advise us what we can try or what we can do to collect more information?
Thanks,
Rongjun Yao

Hello RongJun,
Your issue is currently being managed in Salesforce as Case 27402731. I've asked for more information to help understand and troubleshoot your issue. The serial configuration you are using has been validated with the PM810 and other devices with no issues.
I do notice you have the "Termination Resistor" enabled on the Com'X. With this enabled there is no need for an external terminating resistor. Please ensure the external termination resistor previously used by the ECC has been removed, or if you keep the external resistor disable the "Termination Resistor" setting in the serial configuration.

Hi Rongjun,
For reliable connection of 2-wire and 4-wire RS-485 devices/networks, you could use a Cyber Sciences CNV-100 2-wire to 4-wire converter.
These are stocked in large quantity in Victoria and can be ordered in the same way you order other PowerLogic devices.
For more info, see this page in the Exchange or contact Cyber Sciences at www.cyber-sciences.com
Best wishes to solve this problem!
