IEC Code or PUIL for cable color

Pak @HelvinHermanT do we have any standard for cable color and polarity refer to IEC or PUIL mentioned about black, brown, grey for R,S,T ? is the color for full cable length or can we put vinyl at end of cable only?

To answer your question we can see these Standard :PUIL 2020 SNI IEC 0225-5-52:2020 dan IEC 60445:2017-08.

1. SNI IEC 0225-5-52:2020 Persyaratan Umum Instalasi Listrik (PUIL) 2020 - Bagian 5-52 : Pemilihan dan pemasangan peralatan listrik - Sistem perkawatan.

Pada bagian 5210 Identifiksi Kabel dengan Warna,

5210.1 Warna konduktor lin pada sistem a.b. (Arus Bolak Balik)

5210.1.1 Ketentuan umum

Persyaratan warna insulasi inti kabel berlaku untuk semua instalasi magun atau fleksibel, termasuk instalasi dalam peralatan listrik. Hal tersebut di atas diperlukan untuk mendapatkan kesatuan pengertian mengenai penggunaan sesuatu warna atau warna loreng yang digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi inti kabel, guna keseragaman dan mempertinggi keamanan.
Sesuai IEC 60445, warna yang lebih disukai untuk konduktor lin pada sistem a.b. adalah HITAM, COKELAT dan ABU-ABU.

Bagian 5210.1.2 Penggunaan warna loreng hijau-kuning. Warna loreng hijau-kuning hanya boleh untuk menandai konduktor pembumian, konduktor proteksi dan konduktor yang menghubungkan ikatan ekuipotensial ke bumi.

Bagian 5210.1.3 Penggunaan warna biru
Warna biru digunakan untuk menandai konduktor netral atau kawat tengah, pada instalasi listrik dengan konduktor netral. Untuk menghindarkan kesalahan, warna biru tersebut tidak boleh digunakan untuk menandai konduktor lainnya. Warna biru hanya dapat digunakan untuk maksud lain, jika pada instalasi listrik tersebut tidak terdapat konduktor netral atau kawat
tengah. Warna biru tidak boleh digunakan untuk menandai konduktor pembumian.

5210.2 Warna konduktor lin pada sistem a.s. (Arus Searah)
Sesuai IEC 60445, warna yang lebih disukai untuk konduktor lin pada sistem a.s. adalah:
- MERAH untuk konduktor lin positif,
- PUTIH untuk konduktor lin negatif.

2. IEC 60445:2017-08 Basic and safety principles for man-machine interface, marking and identification - Identification of equipment terminals, conductor terminations and conductors

Clause 6 Identification by Colours

The permited colours for conductors : Black, Brown, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet, Grey, White, Pink, Turquoise.

The identification by colour shall be used at terminations and preferably throughout the length of the conductors either by the colour of insulation or by colour markers, except for bare conductors where the colour identification shall be at termination an connection points.

Clause 6.2.3 Line conductor in AC System

For line conductor in AC systems the preferred colours ar Black, Brown and Grey.

Clause 6.2.4 Line conductors in DC System

Preferred colours : Red for Positive & White for Negative line conductor.

So based on the documents above, answering your question :

1. Prefered colour for AC system :  Black, Brown, Grey. (mentioned in PUIL & IEC 60445)

2. Bicolour Green & Yellow only for Protective earth (mentioned in PUIL & IEC 60445)

3. Blue colour for Neutral only. (mentioned in PUIL & IEC 60445)

4. The identification by colour shall be used at terminations and preferably throughout the length of the conductors either by the colour of insulation or by colour markers (mentioned in IEC 60445)
