ada dua jenis resonansi, 

(1) shunt resonance

(2) series resonance

 

Shunt atau parallel resonance terjadi jika  inductor terpasang secara parallel dengan kapasitor. Dalam hal ini kapasitor bank yang kemudian bertemu dengan inductance dari trafo atau motor2 besar. Jenis ini bersifat: dalam kondisi parallel resonance, akan memperbesar Z (impedance) (pole). Sedangkan series resonance, terjadi jika inductor terpasang serial dengan kapasitor. Dan sifatnya: dalam kondisi resonance akan membuat Z menjadi sekecil mungkin (zero).

 

Jadi untuk mengatasi Parallel resonance mesti ditambahkan series resonance yang mengcounter efek resonansi itu tadi. 

Dengan kata lain, kita mesti menginstall Detuned Capacitor bank, untuk mencegah terjadinya Parallel resonance.

 

Penting untuk diperhatikan. Detuned capacitor bank mensyaratkan nilai L (induktansi) dan C (capasitansi) yang sudah dihitung dengan hati-hati sehingga diperoleh performa yang diinginkan. Ibaratnya perkawinan pemilihan inductor yang sesuai dengan kapasitornya mesti benar-benar cocok. Untuk itu kami menyarankan agar hanya menggunakan pasangan yang sudah kami siapkan dalam table di buku pricelist. 

 

Jika serampangan dalam mengkombinasikan reactor dengan kapasitor maka - seperti yang terjadi pada salah satu customer kami - alih-alih kapasitor banknya terlindungi ini malah rusak prematur dalam jangka waktu 2 minggu.
