bio matrix card (access control) to DCE

Team,

Need a clarification : If it possible to add the Bio matrix card to DCE ?

Or, does it need to be configured in Netbotz first and then discover?

Never tried though.

Please suggest.

Hi @Pothan ,

To access a rack using the NetBotz rack access functionality, you must first have a NetBotz with the proper handles. On a 250 for instance, the supported card formats  can be found on page 22 of the user guide:

https://download.schneider-electric.com/files?p_File_Name=990-9814G_EN.pdf&p_Doc_Ref=990-9814_EN&p_e...

DCE can push configuration of the correct card number to the NetBotz but it is easier to simply swipe the card on the handle and it will enter itself on the NetBotz appliance.

I do not see information on the card type you mentioned so I do not believe it is compatible but you may want to check more specifics on the card and compare it to the guide I linked above.

Again, if the NetBotz appliance is set up correctly and the card type is correct, you can add the card through DCE but the procedure may differ depending on which NetBotz appliance you have.

Thanks,

Steve

@APC_Steve

Another query, is it possible to fingerprint devices of a third party to netbotz?

Hi @Pothan ,

There is no supported integration with 3rd party systems. A 3rd party handle won't work with the NetBotz.

If there was some system that could send an SNMP set to the NetBotz device (again, depending on which device), it could command a handle to unlock but that would not seem to be the clean integration you're looking for.
