SMS alert on APC Netbotz250

We are facing some issue on sending email to SMS  through APC Netbotz250,

As per our SMS Service provider SMS are coming in Unicode, and need to change to plain text language.

As word with our SMS gateway, they advise changing the message type to "N".

Can you guide us?
