Hello,

yes it is ok and only backup from 7.8.1 can be restored to a 7.9.0 version(including of course a 7.9.0 backup)

this is an issue specific only on 7.9.0 and 7.9.1 to lose all devices...so restore and upgrade ASAP to the latest version

I guess that you have appliance version, so I think will be a better option to reimage the server and after restore/upgrade(anyway you will have data and logs only until the date of 7.8.1 backup.....)

Good morning Gabi,

Thank you for the reply. In order to proceed with the fresh install and then upgrade, where can I find the firmware 7.9.0 and 7.9.2 link for download?

Thanks,

Best Regards.

Hello,

I am trying to to upgrade our DCE running on VM from 7.8.1 to 7.9.0 version. Before upgrade did 7.8.1 config backup. Deployed new VM, istalled 7.9.0 version from .ova file. New VM is up and running. With same ip address, same mac, same hostname, only CPU and RAM increased. Added location where backup is stored, backup restore procedure begins, system reboots, web shows restore complete 100%. But nothing happens, no restore is done. logs does not show any errors. What am I missing here?

Minrusi
you need to set the same resources for new VM as it was on old VM to restore backup successfully. then you can increase resources.

Hello, tried to set same resources and reinstall VM, but thats not the case. captured server logs and can see I get error extracting archive:

LOG: mountType=SMB 02-11-2025 01:29:22
LOG: Restoring from archive 02-11-2025 01:29:22
LOG: Extracting archive to _restore... 02-11-2025 01:29:22
ERROR: Failed to extract 02-11-2025 01:29:22
LOG: Cleaning up directory _restore 02-11-2025 01:29:22
LOG: Rebooting the server 02-11-2025 01:29:22

Could it be that mountPoint name is too long? because in logs it shows not complete path to backup achive.

Problem Solved. Windows share name was too long, changed it to windows share location with short name to like //servername/folder1/folder2/DCEbackup. Even DCE client software shows all good, but long paths does not work.
