PowerChute Software

Hi Guys

I have a client who has APC Symmetra RM 6000 UPSs in their Server Rooms located in different Sites and they wish to have the PowerChute Software installed on their environment for a graceful shutdown of their VMs, Servers and UPSs during a Power Outage when the UPS reaches a certain battery level following a sequence of Least important Servers to Most Important Servers shutting down last.

Please help me clarify if we use PowerChute Business Edition or PowerChute Network Shutdown to be able to achieve this?

Thank you.

Hello Mr T.

I think generally you'll find powerchute related info and downloads on their product page (pasted below)

https://www.se.com/ww/en/product-range/61933-powerchute-network-shutdown/?selected-node-id=276024457...

And there is the APC forums page  (http://forums.apc.com/) where you can search the powerchute knowledge base.

Regards

Hi,

Symmetra RMs usually have a UPS Network Management Card installed. This makes it a fit for PCNS software which also supports common virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.

Before contacting the APC Support/Forums, it would be best to note the UPS NMC firmware, as well as the virtualization platform you are using so they can guide you accordingly with the setup.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Justine
