Dear All,
After DCE upgrade to 7.8.1 we have lost DDF associated to power generator (Modbus communication). I assume it is a single incident as everything else is working okay.
The power generator device exists in DCE, but without DDF associated, so all the device sensors appears be unplugged (DDF has been re-uploaded to the system).
Question: How to re-associate 3rd party DDF to existing device in DCE? I would like to avoid re-adding the device as this will cause me lost of all its historical data.
Please advise,
Krzysztof

Thank you Jackie for your idea but information on the web site you pointed did not help.
I need to re-assign DDF to an existing device. Please have a look at attached screenshot for clarity where the DDF disappeared from.

Hi @kefarel ,
Sorry to say that there is currently no way to associate re-associate a currently discovered device with a DDF.
I've never seen a device lose it's association. It sounds like the DDF file got deleted. Upgrades don't and shouldn't do that.
I guess it's possible that if a user did not do it, that there was some sort of system anomaly but again, I've never seen that happen.
Sorry but the only way to associate a modbus device with a DDF is to remove and re-add the device itself. You can try another reboot or, if you have a backup from when the system was working, you can try restoring to that backup but going forward without that backup / restore, the only way is to delete and re-add the device.
Thanks,
Steve
