Hi,
A client has had a faulty NMC on one of they APC PDPs. The idea is to retain the old IP address and continue monitoring the device without losing the historical sensor data.
Is there a way to get this done? DCE is able to ping the new NMC on the old address, but is not collecting data mostly due to recognizing that the NMC is a different one.

Does an snmp device walk from the DCE status page work?
As long as snmpv1 or v3 is enabled on the nmc and the ip, protocol and community strings match the old device settings in SNMP Device Scan Settings, DCE should be able to communicate with the device. I'll note that snmpv1 is disabled by default on newer network card firmware versions.
EDIT:
I may be mistaken about DCE being able to poll a new mac address on the same ip, I would verify that an snmp walk from the DCE status page works first. If it does and DCE still can't poll the device, then delete and rediscover.
Also is this with DCE 7.8.1?

Hi @KevinK ,
Although @ATrabert is right about the changing of IPs, You can change the IP of the same NMC and DCE will allow you to change it in the scan settings.
When you put a new NMC in a device, it gets a new MAC address. DCE uses that MAC in part to create the internal ID for that device. With a different mac address, DCE won't see it as the same device.

Hi @stallings43 ,
You may want to start a new post as your comment about upgrading Windows 10 does not seem to have anything to do with "changing NMC of DCE monitored device".
If this is about DCE in some way or some other Schneider product, please specify that type of information when creating your new post.
Thanks,
Steve
