I wish to change the communication protocol of DCE, for the devices discovered into DCE from Port 80 to Port 443 and move from SNMP v1 to SNMP v3. I wish to know if this can be done seamlessly without loosing any sensor history for Devices UPSs. Tenemos las siguientes marcas: (Liebert, General Electric, Forza, ABB, Toshiba)
Saludos
Caroll

I was in the same boot couple of years before and I used the following great article to change from SNMPv1 to v3:

To be honest I don't remember that historical data kept or not. I suggest to you just test it first with one device and you'll see.
The http > https should not be impact the monitoring and historical data (unless it is a NetBotz). The batch change can happen in the same way like for SNMP on APC devices. On 3rd party devices it need to be changed manually.

If an organization has 1000 of devices then to check all devices, one by one every day, are working properly or not is a hectic task. To ease these up, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is used.
