Hello Data Center Expert community,
I'm adding different Schneider Electric cooling units to Data Center expert :
- Chiller BCEC : DDF -> Uniflair BCE Chiller [pcoWeb][SNMP]
- CRAC HDCV : DDF -> Uniflair Amico/Leonardo (UG50/MP50) CCU [pcoWeb][SNMP]
I've added both DDF to Expert and then added the devices but both types are using the same DDF and the chiller is showing room temperature alarms.
How to associate the specific device type with the correct DDF ?
Thank you for your help !

Hi @Anonymous user ,
There is no way to manually associate an SNMP DDF to a device in DCE. The SNMP device discovery automatically associates DDFs based an the reply to initial SNMP poll. pcoWEB cards do not define themselves correctly and as such the DCE server does not know which pcoWEB based DDF to use. Because of this, DCE just uses the first one it can find for all web cards of this type. This has been a known issue for quite some time.
The best suggestion I can make is to use modbus communications with the device as you must specifically select the correct DDF when using that protocol.
On a side note, I am not familiar with the pcoWEB card but it is my understanding that the OID that DCE polls to determine the device type can be manually set in the web interface of the card. If anyone has more information in that direction, please feel free to chime in.
Thanks,
Steve

Hello Steve,
Thank you for the quick reply.
I will use the Modbus as a workaround to solve this quickly.
I would be happy to have more information about the OID settings on the PCOweb, I would like to have the correct and adjusted DDF for each type of device.
For example, having compressor sensors in a Compute Room Air Handling unit (chilled water) is useless so I would like to remove it manually from the DDF.

I used customized Mobdus files and this solution is working well !
You can close this topic even if there is no solution in SNMP.
Thank you for your help Steve !
