Dce 7.8.0 Backup windows share

Hi All

 

im not able to mount a windows share on customer server

 

7/14/20 11:37:56.316 ERRR - Failed to mount remote share: apc from host itflosql0013 Error: mount error(13): Permission denied Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) mount error(13): Permission denied Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

(com.netbotz.server.services.backup.impl.BackupJob)
 
on my laptop no issue.
 
customer cannot enable smb v1 due security policy
 
how can we solve it?

Hi @Gianluca ,

 

Currently SMB1 is the protocol that must be used. For the time being, I suggest he keep using his laptop.

I am told that the base OS is getting an update later this year. This is what is needed to include SMB2 into DCE so my understanding is that SMB2 should be available after that update.

 

The only other option is for the customer to use NFS.

 

I'm adding this post to the list of customers requesting this feature.

customer cannot use a laptop because also there all is blocked, also by mcafee firewall.


i'm creating a linux machine that is under private lan of dce

Is there any update on this subject? Is the SMB2 included into DCE? Can our customers perform backup using windows 10?

No at present DCE supports SMBv1 and NFS for it's backup destinations.

Hello Gavan, 

 

I have tried to take the DCE backup on Window 10 at different sites. But it gives the  unmount error every time. Is it some special setting of window 10 to take the  DCE backup. I am trying it on laptops/workstations which are not domain. 

 

I have taken the DCE backup many time on window 7  every time successful.

 

your quick guidance is required.

 Currently I am using DCE 7.4.1. And I have tried it  after your replay but it is giving the same unmount error. I have enable the SMB1 client in windows feature.

Dear , 

 

Three weeks ago my server had crashed. I had restored the server and took the backup on window 7 successfully. After take the backup i have remove my laptop from DCE server.  That why it is give this error because laptop is not available for this path. But right now i have tried to take the backup on window 10 workstation. But it is giving the same error on window 10 every time unmount.
