Hi all, Can somebody advise me, are the cascaded V3 rPDU supported by DCE? How many rPDUs in a cascade supported in DCE - all 32? Does it consume only a node license? Are there any possible issues with it?
@Cory_McDonald can you answer please?
Thanks

Hi @Andy
If DCE is monitoring a single PDU via IP, it will use a single node.
I don't want to say it's officially supported but as long as you can see the devices when polling the main device using SNMP, then DCE will be able to poll them when monitoring the main unit.
There are issues where you may not be able to properly identify which outlet is on which PDU in the chain. This is due to the limitations of DCE polling the PDU via SNMP.
Please also keep in mind that this can be done only when the PDUs are physically chained together. Port sharing global outlet groups (network sharing) between PDUs does not allow for secondary units to be monitored by polling the 1st device using SNMP and in such a case, the secondary unit cannot be monitored by DCE.
To get full functionality I would suggest adding each PDU individually (yes, this will take 1 license per PDU).
Thanks,
Steve

P.S.
So according to engineering, DCE can monitor all the rPDUS but they only appear as a single device. He said this is a limitation of DCE. I do recall there is a enhancement ticket open on this.
