DCE upgrade failure, restore failure
We want to upgrade DCE AP9465 from version 7.3.1. We are having a challenge where is fails to finish upgrade and goes offline. I attached the image from Google chrome browser showing that it is failing to connect to DCE. We have tried waiting for more than 30 min but it still does come back online. We have all interim versions from 7.3.1 to 7.8.
We have tried recovery using USB but it is failing to detect the USB flash drive in Legacy boot mode. On other old DCE hardware this is working without any challenge. Once I change to UEFI if starts showing the USB drive but it gives an Incompatible Media error once I select the USB to boot from. Kindly assist in either creating the recovery disk that works or preforming a successful server upgrade. I have attached images of this in a zipped folder. We used steps here for recovery https://www.se.com/ww/en/faqs/FA321728/

Hi,
For booting older servers from USB, the best suggestions I have are to ensure you're using the usb ports on the back of the server, not the front - and if that doesn't help, to use a a usb cdrom rather than a memory stick.
I strongly suspect we may be able to recover the existing installation if you would prefer that approach. You'd need to contact your local technical support as it's not a process we can do over the forum. There's a known issue with DCE around that version where one particular log file was allowed to grow forever. Unfortunately it wasn't noticed before release as it takes years to grow to a significant size, so it took some time to become apparent. But once that log fills the partition, it causes boot issues.
If during boot you're seeing messages that would indicate "failed to create file" or "no space left on device", this is likely the issue you're running into, and support should be able to assist clearing out the errant log.
