DCE storage space issue

Hi,

We have removed a few camera recording clips from DCE. However, it does not decrease their used storage space.

Can you please explain how we can clear the storage space used by recorded clips on DCE?

Hi @shoaibmaqsood52,

Upon selecting to delete clips from the Retrieve Clips option within Surveillance, the clips should immediately be removed from the server.

If you are using the purge option (System > Server Administration Settings > Storage Settings > Purge Settings tab) to remove clips, please keep in mind that a purge takes some time to run depending on your system resources and storage speed.

Also, depending on how active your environment is, you may be having new clips come in at a higher rate than those that you have removed which may be why your storage hasn't decreased.

If your clips are no longer within the Retrieve Clips option when right-clicking on the surveillance camera, then the specific clips should no longer be on the system.  If they are not being removed and still showing or your purge appears to not be completing, please reach out to technical support for an investigation.

Regards,

Cory
