Hi Everybody: A Colocation company is requiring from us migrate existing DCE/DCO virtual servers into a new ones (Including next modules: Capacity, Change, Insight , Energy efficiency & cluster)
As I understand licenses are tied to the MAC address.
Beside that, do you have additional recommendations or a kind of best practices to grant success?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Victor,
I can only speak for the DCE but here is the general outline.
Firstly, the physical DCE will need a software support contract including all the nodes that need to be migrated,
Next the customer will need to deploy a DCE VM on the same DCE version as the hardware appliance, the spec of the VM should follow the VM spec guide. If the DCE is not running the latest version (7.8), you can upgrade before or after the migration but the physical appliance and the VM must be on the same version after this step.
Take a backup of the physical appliance using the in-built backup utility.
Restore that backup to the new DCE VM.
Contact support with the old MAC/serial/pass-codes and the new MAC/serial so that the licences can be migrated.
Configure a schedule backup job with the in-built backup tool on the new VM.
(This is not required but I can not recommend it enough)
