Hi;
We have an existing on-prem install of StruxureWare DCE for our SE In-row coolers. These coolers are currently installed at our headquarters. We have purchase a 100KW Symmetra PX that will be installed in a remote site. Is it possible to add this UPS to the dashboard without buying a new license? If yes, what is the best documentation to refer to?
Thanks
Vince

Hello @vincedenbu,
Just as an FYI, DCE 7.6.0 is no longer supported and it is highly recommended to upgrade to a recent version. The current version as of writing this reply is 8.2.0 and you can download the upgrades through the Entitlement Portal if your contract has been applied in there or contact technical support to get any active contracts associated and to provide access based off of an active complete contract.
To be able to discover a device into DCE, there must be a node license available. You can check your node licensing within the Desktop client by navigating to System menu > Server Administration Settings > License Keys. Within the list it will show you if you have any available licensing to use. If you are running the DCE VM trial, a 25 node license will display, but you can only discover up to 5 nodes. When attempting to discover more, you will receive an error message.

Yes, it is generally possible to add a new UPS (such as the Symmetra PX) to your existing StruxureWare Data Center Expert (DCE) setup without purchasing a new license, but this depends on whether your license and infrastructure are compatible
