Runtime Application Initialisation

Hi, I'm a newbie to automation in general and currently practising with EAE. I'm using a test rig - Conveyor sorting line with colour detection. My challenge is that I'm unable to write in fields to ascertain better operation and precision of pistons for sorting the colour blocks. The conveyor starts running when there's an object before the entry sensor but the compressor doesn't activate which doesn't energise the solenoid pistons in return. Please see attached photos for the fields requiring "write" and also the error message from the Local HMI connection. Happy to answer further questions regarding the issue. ThanksScreenshot 2025-02-26 135240.pngScreenshot 2025-02-26 135352.png

Hi Chiborjay,

Could you check in your IThis block whether the INIT request is connected? Additionally, can you verify if the DPAC_FULL_INT resource blocks are initialized? Attached the initialization snaps for your reference.

  • Your pictures have been well received now, thanks.

Based on @mohamedriswan comment, you will need to look that your application initialization sequence is fully completed :
  •  You have a DPAC_FULLINIT block in your app (it look like you had one)
  •  All the block that required initialization are correctly linked in serie ( INITO to next INIT ), avoid parallel event chain here. Double check especially for your iThis block inside your CAT too.
  • All the QI data input are TRUE when the INIT event arrived.

Also, do you use any plcStart block within your application?

Let us now if it's fixed or not, and don't forget to mark a response as solution if it's okay.

Hi @theo.bagieu the issue hasn't actually been resolved entirely. I'd marked the suggestions from yourself and @mohamedriswan as solutions when you said "not to forget to mark a response as solution" in your previous comment. The persisting issue here is that when I try to run the program, it doesn't particularly work as expected and "write" on the HMI is not working and I need the "write" for some sort of tuning. When I check the connection on the Local HMI runtime, it says "Runtime Application is not initialised/Partially Initialised". I believe this to be the reason why "write" field on the HMI doesn't work.

Hi @theo.bagieu I'm not sure why you can't see my uploaded pictures. I believe the initialisation have been done and connections INITO of the DPAC_FULLINIT to INIT of the conveyor. I'll attach a screenshot here, see if you get it please. ThanksScreenshot 2025-02-28 082156.png

Hi @chiborjay

Can you please send me an archive of your project to look at it ?
To do that, in EAE go to "Files>Archive". Please include all the libraries.

Then you can send it to me using direct messages :
Hover my profile, then Direct Messages.

theobagieu_0-1741075632346.png

If the file is too big, please use another file transfer tool of your choice.

Thanks

Hi @chiborjay
I successfully received your application.

It look like your initialization chain is not good inside your blocks.
Can you please review for all your blocks the following point I've mentionned in my previous messages :

  •  All the block that required initialization are correctly linked in serie ( INITO to next INIT ), avoid parallel event chain here. Double check especially for your iThis block inside your CAT too.
  • All the QI data input are TRUE when the INIT event arrived.

While checking your application, the INIT are mostly wired in parallel, some aren't wired, and many QI inputs are not set.
Also, you've used plcStart FBs, in addition of an INIT input in your CAT. You can rely on only one unique INIT chain in your case. As soon as you use the plcStart, you should wire the end of your INIT chain (ie. last INITO) to the ACK_FIRST of the plcStart block.
    toblur (1).png
(i've blured your custom blocks for privacy)

Can you check all of this for each of your blocks and try again please ?

@theo.bagieu I've tried having a look there and was going to send you a direct message but the button's no longer there on your profile. Anyway, the bigger issue now is that the blocks are pre-made ones by Schneider and locked, can't edit them at all. Guess there's not much that can be done in this case eh?
