Passing DI signal to DO signal within EAE

Hi All,

Still new in EAE and hope to get some helps from the community.

We have configured the application to symlink Modicon STB into EAE which consists of DI and DO signals.

We managed to get the DI signal from Modicon STB using DisplayBool FB and also managed to trigger the DO signal to Modicon STB using SetBool FB as shown by below pictures.

Now, we are required configure inter-link logic between the DI and DO. However, there is only single connection point from both FBs. Kindly guide us. Thanks

Hi @theo.bagieu, thank you for following up.

Yes, we managed to solve the issue with help from SE Malaysia support as well.

Utilizing Island_Word2Bit FB, split the output to DisplayBool and N1 FBs. N1 FB acts as OR gate receiving the signal from sensor 1 or 2 to trigger the output. In the same time, it can also receive manual input from SetBool FB for Lamp Test function. Below are the logic snapshots.

Thank you again for your recommendations.

Hi @Eyanto
I will assume that your request is not only to link DI to the DO but you want to keep your HMI SetBool and DisplayBool Logic.

I will consider 3 major solutions there, depending on your needs :

  • Create your own CAT, with custom logic to Display/Set your bool(s) either from the application or the HMI, but you will have to manage yourself bypassing, forcing control etc etc.
  • Kept the SetBool & DisplayBool and use a DS_SELECTX block. This FB helps you to select between two data depending on which event input is triggered. In your use case, your HMI could be on REQ1/DI1_1 and your loopback from the IO on the REQ2/DI2_1.

  • If you wish to had a advanced & complete I/O control, you can use the FB from the AppCommonProcess or App2CommonProcess like DigitalInput & DigitalOutputtheobagieu_1-1756107461708.png

These will have a complete HMI support, alarm management, and process library integration.

    Hope it helps

Hi @theo.bagieu ,

Your assumption is correct. We would like to retain the SetBool and Display Bool FBs while creating another interlink DI and DO.

Besides that, thank you for you suggestions. We will try them out.
