Hi
Sometimes following a minor code change I'm forced ('Build Changes' is greyed-out) to 'Rebuild All Project' (this can take 20 mins). Other times I can make more significant changes and have the option to Build Changes (much quicker). Does anybody know what determines if 'Build Changes' is available or not please?

There are three types of changes that can be made with EcoStruxure Control Expert.
1. Application logic changes can typically be made without requiring a Rebuild All. You must be connected to the controller when making the changes and in an equal state. There is a setting in EcoStruxure Control Expert that will allow you to make off-line changes and then download them to the controller. This will only work with a single instance of ECE connecting to the controller.
2. If you are making configuration changes to the Project Settings CPU, NOE, NOC and DTM then typically these will need to be done off-line which will requires a Rebuild All.
3. If you want to modify the configuration of various I/O modules on-line, then you need to activate CCOTF "Change Configuration on the Fly" in the CPU configuration. Changing this setting will require an initial Rebuild ALL. Once CCOTF has been activated you can make modification to most I/O modules configurations, Add Modules and Add Racks. There are rules to how this is handled by the CPU.
FYI, you posted this question in the EcoStruxure Automation Expert / IEC 61499 Forum instead of the EcoStruxure Control Expert Forum.
