String Bindings between Infinet Controllers fail

• Infinet Controllers

Cause

Direct string transfers between Infinet Controllers were possible in Continuum (via an import PE Program), but not in EBO via Script Program

Resolution

Following a Continuum Conversion, direct string transfers (via an import PE Program) downloads correctly but the Strings do not update.

This type of transfer is not seen often, but was possible in Continuum. See the Knowledge Base article Passing InfinityString object between Continuum controllers

The workarounds are

1. Bind string values direct (object to object), but this will force an EBO transfer via the ASP, so if the AS is not available the transfer will fail. Also more bandwidth is used.
2. Rewrite the script to avoid using string transfers, by using numerical Objects
