Hi,
We are bussye upgrading a clients Citect 2018 to Plant Scada 2023 r2. We need to use the VM server from the client whitch are configured in a domain. The Client PC's are configured in a workgroup.
With the configuration tool whe can make conenction with the management server. When we configure the licence server we alway get an error that there is a problem with port 59200. Severeal peapol looked at this and see no problem with the configuration of this port.
What could be the problem here? Is it becaus of the domain configuration on the server and the workgroup on the Client? The Client can not be configured in the domain becaus it isn't from the client.
Somme one an idee where to look to solve this?

Hi VGK,
Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your setup of workgroup users and domain accounts.
Ideally, I would suggest reaching out to your local support team to help you troubleshoot directly.
There are a lot of potential hurdles with outside domain security protocols that could be blocking, not just opening up ports. Eg trusts with SMS and Domain account users...
Another direct AVEVA forum you may wish to post your questions from AVEVA is
https://community.aveva.com/heroes-hq/f/aveva-plant-scada
It is a more technical forum of PlantSCADA users.

Hi @VGK,
As @Kien_Mac mentions, it is probably a good idea to reach out to your local support team to help troubleshoot further.
I can also suggest looking at the Enterprise License Management User Guide from Plant SCADA 2023 R2 installation, namely page 45 details how to use Workgroup environments and some additional configuration that is required.
I've personally used AEL and Plant SCADA in mixed environments, and what I found most important is the following:
1) The Username and Password defined in Workgroup or local to any machine must match exactly.
2) The Workgroup user account is added to the AELic Group on the AEL Server / Management node.
Also test that you can Telnet to port 59200 from your workgroup client node, to make sure it isn't a firewall, or security issue.
Hope these tips help.
Let us know how you go.
Kind regards
Olivier
