Hi,
I have a Back-UPS CS 650 which appears to be working fine...
...however, when power is lost and the run time I have set in settings has expired nothing happens. The software notices the utility power has failed and the time until shutdown counter decreases until it says "<1 minute" and it stays like that until the UPS finally runs out of battery and shuts off... taking the PC down abruptly.
It does this whether Powerchute is set to "Preserve battery power" (any setting of minutes) or "Keep my computer on as long as possible" (also any setting of minutes).
I have issued the "powercfg.exe /hibernate on" and checked there is a hiberfile.sys" created in C:\
I have also tested hibernation using rundll32.exe PowrProf.dll,SetSuspendState and it does hibernate (and wake successfully when power button is pressed)
In the Windows Application log the message "Battery backup transferred to battery power due to a blackout" is logged when utility power is lost and if utility power is restored before battery depletion "Battery backup transferred to AC utility power" is logged.
If utility power is left off until battery depletion and subsequent uncontrolled shutdown, then the only message logged is the "Battery backup transferred to battery power due to a blackout" followed by the messages logged during the system startup after the power loss.
Both APC services (APC Data service and APC UPS Service" are running normally.
The PC is running Windows 7 x64 Service Pack 1. Powerchute personal is latest version - 3.0.2
Can anyone help please?

Hi Chris, it never starts to shutdown. The PC just keeps running until the battery gives up...
Thanks

What is your current load and runtime as shown in the software? Does it start to gracefully shutdown but not finish or does it not even start?
