UPS status showing more batteries than actually exist
We have a Smart-UPS RT 20000 RM XL with the extra SURT192RMXLBP2 pack attached.
We recently replaced all batteries as we had a warning that 2 were bad.
We are still getting told 2 batteries are bad after a self test, and a change of the battery replacement date. I also notice that the battery count on the status page says 20, except the main UPS and the extra pack only have 16. Is this normal? Should I be adjusting something so it knows there are only 16? Is there a better option to reset the UPS so it knows it has all new batteries?

If you are using a network card I believe it is under configuration > UPS. I am not looking at a UPS currently to know for sure. But the UPS has no way of knowing exactly how many batteries a pack or itself has. So this is a manual setting.
As for the alert, some times it takes a little bit for the UPS to recognize that the batteries have been replaced. Sometimes you can speed this up by disconnecting the batteries and waiting on the alert to appear that the batteries have been disconnected and the battery light to start flashing. Then reconnect and try a self test. If that does not work you may have gotten a bad battery in the new batch, or the UPS may be bad itself. I have seen that as well.
