Smart UPS 3000 & 2200 daisy chained to Symmetra
My organization is upgrading our server room's backup power capablity, specifically we are migrating from rack mounted APC SmartUPS 3000s and 2200s to a Symmetra facility UPS. We have purchased PDUs to replace the rackmount UPS, but we forgot to account for the high power draw of some of our core networking equipment- they draw more power than the PDUs we purchased are rated for. I have read that it is generally a bad idea to connect an UPS into and UPS, but in this case it would help us avoid the purchase of additional equipment if we could leave the rackmount UPS in place and use them to bring power to the core racks.
Are there technical reasons that this wouldn't work?
