Numerous Smartconnect devices with connection issues.
I am having a ton of trouble with my devices staying connected to my network. drop outs and struggles to reconnect are so common i cant even trust my smartconnect devices anymore. Mind you have have 35 devices powering equipment in a laboratory environment and would really LOVE for it to work correctly. My network is well maintained and set up properly. At a high level you’re going to need to validate where in the hop there is a network failure.
Is it internal, ISP, APC etc.
There is no way to be definitive unless this action has been taken over a long period of time.
As such your NMS should be the first thing to be reviewed! ☝️ If APC has a public facing uptime / outage page ask to review the same.
As it relates to any Cloud First vs Local First. This is exactly why mission critical infrastructure can’t be relying on the so called Cloud Power! 🤦♂️
Nobody remotely serious would allow the most important infrastructure (Power Management) to be open to the cloud!
Regardless, you have some work to do as to validating where in the network the failure exists. As such better start reaching out to the I.T. department, ISP, and APC for performance / outage reports as a start.
The NMS should be able to provide lots of historical information as to when this first started, duration, and time of recovery etc.
