we have some APC UPSs in our server rooms with both UPS Network Management Card 2 and UPS Network Management Card 3 installed. same behavor on both where if there is an alert regarding a battery replacement needed "Critical - UPS: Battery needs replacement. Order replacement battery, APCRBC140, for battery pack 2, cartridge 2.", the system will email us that alert every 5 minutes, blowing up our mailboxes. it only shows up in the UI as a single alert, but we get a stream of emails.
we also get an email when there is a fault in the sytem, such as "Critical - UPS: In bypass in response to an internal hardware fault." which is more important but I still don't need 10-15 emails about it an hour. maybe once a day, or up to 3-4 times a day would be acceptable if I know about the problem and am working on it.
right now, the only solution I see is to disable notifications on that box completely until I fix the issue. in the meantime, I have no visibility into any other alerts that the system might be generating.
is there no "acknowledgement" option where I can tell it to stop alerting about a specific issue

You can tailor each notification to the time, duration, and number of notifications:
Configuration -> Notification -> Event Actions -> By Event / By Group -> Select the fault -> Choose the email member - Adjust the notification to your requirements.
If this resolves the problem insure you mark this as solved. If not please let me know and we can try something else. 👍
