How much power does the UPS SMT1500RMI1U consume when charging.
Hello,
I am sizing a distribution transformer in a machine that uses the UPS SMT1500RMI1U as back up for the PC.
The UPS is rated 1500VA / 1000W, I am wondering if this is the power that will consume when charging of it is only the rated power available for the UPS load side?
Looking at the product datasheet I found the following specification:
Battery Charge Power (Watts)
73 W rated
Can I take this value as the charging power consumption? The battery model on this UPS is APCRBC88

The system you indicated can support 1000 watts RMS continuous. The 73 watt charger value is the maximum output it can provide to recharge a fully depleted battery cartridge.
The power output varies based on SOC, Temperature, and battery condition.
The SMT1500 has an idle power consumption of approximately 25 ~ 32 watts depending upon configuration and if green mode is enabled / disabled.
