Hi,
Recently replaced a battery in one of two APC Smart-UPS X 3000 device, with no problems.
Today, tried to replace the battery in a different APC Smart-UPS X 3000 device.
The old battery was easily disconnected and removed, and the new battery slid into place. The connector in the unit to accept the connector from the battery is the problem.
The connector inside the unit is not held in the correct place to allow me to connect the battery to it. It seems to be loose inside the metal frame of the device, there isn't anything holding it in place to allow it to receive the battery connector.
Surely, this expensive device is not defeated by a connector holding clip failure or whatever has failed here?

The internal (Anderson) battery connector is held by a black plastic (H) frame and is clipped into the metal chassis. On older systems the mating connector is held by two screws vs two plastic dowel / plugs.
Open the top lid and verify the black plastic (H) frame hasn’t been damaged or came loose from the metal housing.
I have yet to see or experience any battery connector come loose, break, or misaligned.
Show me a photo of what you find when you open the lid.

Hi, this equipment is screwed into a rack, is under power, is in production.
I can get a picture through the front grate easily, but I'm not comfortable opening the lid under current conditions.

Absolutely understandable but if the connector is truly broken / loose inside. There is no other option than to schedule a maintenance window and to remove the unit from the rack and take the lid off.
As of this writing are you saying when you insert the battery terminal plug into the other.
That it doesn’t insert into the other one without pushing the internal plug around?!?
