I've got a specific problem, I was given a task at work of setting up a SNMP communication with this UPS. I was not in this topic the time someone has set up this device originally. For some reason, a part of SNMP communication (eg. with snmpwalk snmpget) just does not work. (1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.4.1.1 - OID that should be accessible for all Power-Net MIB using devices, for my case does not work) Strangely my UPS Serial Number seems to be missing also in my Web Interface That's why my best guess is to find out if the NMC is running a proper firmware (that would eliminate a probable cause of my problems.
Now to the firmware stuff, as far as I'm concerned the are all details about my running firmware: MB:v4.0.1 PF:v5.1.9 PN:apc_hw05_aos_519.bin AF1:v5.1.1 AN1:apc_hw05_chu_511.bin MN:AP9635CH HR:05 (Embedded PowerNet SNMP Agent SW v2.2 compatible)" Firmware version: GDEN-NT07
I haven't worked a lot with that generation of Galaxy, but I believe 5.1.1 is one of the very first firmwares to support that hardware combination, so updating would be my first step too. I'd recommend contacting the support team for the Galaxy systems to see what firmware they advise. I believe I've seen at least 7.0.4 for the 5500 - so while I don't know exactly what version is current, I'm certain it's much more recent than 5.1.1.
