Hi,
I've been having problems with the AP5456 IP KVM Gateway.
The mouse is impossible to configure correctly. There is always a huge offset between the client and server pointers and the gap gets smaller or larger if you move the mouse too fast or too slow. I've read the article in the APC KB about mouse issues but it didn't fix my problem.
I'm using the latest firmware and I've tried to connect the IP Gateway directly on the server or through an AP5201 KVM.

Have you contacted APC Technical support via phone or e-mail support before for any other troubleshooting?
The following ports (specifically for you it sounds like the viewer port) need to be open for the viewer to work properly:
Applications / Services Port Number (decimal)
IP Gateway for Analog KVM Viewer - 5900
Update.exe - 12296
HTTP - 80
SSL - 443
Telnet - 23
FTP - 21
Also, try a different browser, try rolling your Java version back as far as you can (around 1.4.1 was what was available when the product was released), and then also try upgrading to the most recent Java/JRE. If all else fails try a different computer. In the viewer try toggling some of the connection/sync options. Make sure there are no internet security software suites running or any network analyzing software. Keep in mind the device's syncing will always be off in comparison to mouse location.

i think that there is a "single cursor mode" somewhere in the settings. i dont think this is a problem with ports if it works correctly, and the only issue is that it is not syncing up..
