📖Home ClearSCADA includes Group Template and Group Instance features that you can use to significantly reduce the amount of time and effort it takes to configure and maintain your system.
If your system requires multiple, similar configurations, you should consider using Group Templates and Group Instances instead of 'normal' Groups and database items.
You can use a Group Template to create a 'model' Group configuration. The items in a Group Template are not 'live', there are merely used as a reference for items in Group Instances. Templates enable you to produce one set of configuration and replicate that configuration in as many Group Instances as required. Whenever you alter the configuration of an item in a Group Template, the same alteration is made to the corresponding items in all Instances of that Template.
Group Instances are 'live' versions of a Group Template --- they take some or all of their configuration from the corresponding items in the Group Template.
