Import from excel when fail, hangs the client.

Hi.

When an asset import via excel fails, the client hangs and it is necessary to cancel it from the task manager (W11).

ITA server 9.3.3

If there are no error, finish ok.

Re: Import from excel when fail, hangs the client.

Hi @gsterling . Apparently, it’s not that it "hangs" but it takes a long time to return control, something that didn’t happen with the previous version (9.2.n). The excel had 72 connection entries from PDU’s. It’s not much for it to take that long.

Thanks.

Re: Import from excel when fail, hangs the client.

Hello Federico

When you state the client "hangs", are you referring to the fact the "finish" button does not become selectable when the import preview window appears like from your screenshot?

This is normal behavior. The preview window is a method for users to review which items will successfully import. If errors are present in the import template then that could have adverse effects on the rest of the import. So the tool expects all errors to be resolved before ITA will allow the data to be imported.

Re: Import from excel when fail, hangs the client.

Hello @gsterling. I know how the import window works. What I mean is that if there are errors, you cannot get out of that window: the CANCEL button does not work. Nor does closing the window. You can click the BACK button, but you cannot upload a new excel. I can also download the log but I can never CANCEL or close that window. That’s what I mean by hanging. Thanks

Can you forward a copy of the template you're trying to import with the text from your last response to support@ecostruxureit.com

? Please do not post the template file to this forum.
