hi

you can only reset it to defaults by gaining access to the card. the reset button on the actual card itself is only for doing a reboot on the card and it also is involved in the password reset procedure.

even if you reset it to defaults, the wizard still may not work. but, considering the fact you need to gain access to the card anyway in order to reset it to defaults, you might as well configure it through there. so you will need to find the appropriate serial cable to do this it sounds like..940-0024 or 940-1524 is the serial cable you HAVE to use to reset the card. that should be located in the manual as far as the settings, etc to do this.

also here are some helpful articles:

[how to reset the password|http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=7879] (if the card is older, you may need to push the reset button and additional time - timing is critical!) also, default username/password is apc/apc
[how to configure the card to communicate on the network|http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3061]

hope this helps!
