While I just upgraded the apc, although from the previously upgrades using apc back-ups I had never gotten a problem regarding clicking technical data then at any point from those previously upgrades my disket A drive never was turn on at any point.
The computer I was using is a xp home edition sp3
From this upgrade, I have installed the apc software to my other pc, which never had it from the start... But clicking technical data the disket A drive was turn on while nothing was in it, it was turn on then stayed on the only way to turn it off was from closing the apc app.
I also notice the avast was doing a scan like it normally does, and shows (boot sector from disket) while I did turn off avast, clicking technical data was still doing it.
This one is windows 7 home edition sp1, while it does the same thing..
As I did mention I had never had a problem like this till after the update, from this update.. I will be very upset if this indeed ruins my disket drive A
Feel free to ask more questions, even if you find it silly... It seems makes it easy on people that ask those sort of questions.

Although reason I just notice that day, while I made the post only because I clicked it by mistake.

i think this is a problem that has been logged as a bug and will be addressed in a future revision of PCPE, 3.0.1 I think?
so yes, we are aware of it and will address it shortly.

It's so odd, that I am not getting mail notified in letting me know someone replied to my post.
At least I know it's not just me, what I am wondering is? Why does my avast picking up (boot sector) every time I click (technical data), I did thought if I uninstall avast would the problem still have the same effect?
Or is this just a bug from the program it self?

the program for some reason polls the drive every couple of seconds so it is an issue with the software and the polling frequency.
if you don't mind me asking, why are you accessing this area of the software so often? i didnt think it was really that useful - only when APC requests some of the info or if you want to check your powerchute version/available memory. other than that, i wasnt sure what else was in there that would cause you to access it so frequently, and thus encounter this issue.
