Stupid behavior on firmware 3.7.3

Menu--> Logs --> Event Time ( eg: change from 1 days to 2 days )

Get notification email then ( assume we have setup notification for configuration changed)

This never happen on previous version. eg :v3.6.1

And I don't think we change view time period is "configuration changed".

We just make a search, ( query ) , I don't think this is a "configuration changed"

SO, it's really stupid behavior on firmware 3.7.3.

Then, How to solve ?

Why not provide older firmware for our choose ????

For what it's worth, I completely agree with you.

I am not really understanding the behavior your complaining about to be honest so forgive me. I've re-read it a few times and maybe I understand now.

You're setting the event log filter to last day or last 2 days. Then, you get a notification email saying configuration change and you don't feel this is a configuration change?

I tested this and received System: Configuration change. Event log web display time selection. on AOS 3.7.3. As you noted, I did not see this on AOS 3.6.1. I think this is a difference in opinion though so I don't necessarily think it's "stupid" - some users may want to know when ANYTHING is changed on the system, including this setting. You may be upset as a user when someone changes it and you didn't know they did.

If you want to lose out on all the enhancements and fixes for your particular application because of this problem and downgrade, I can provide the file for you. I need to know what device this card is installed in first or what you have under Administration->General->About for the application module name i.e. sumx. The other option is to just live with it or disable email notifications for configuration changes (but then this would apply to any configuration change and is likely not what you want to do).

Angela N. , thanks for your reply.

OK, I agree this is just a difference in opinion. I take back my word "stupid".

But we can still discuss more on this :

"some users may want to know when ANYTHING is changed on the system, including this setting"

--> this should not be treat as a setting in my opinion.

We just view the log, ( or say just make a query) .

I can understand why this is a configuration change on your aos design, because on v3.7.3 firmware design , you make the log filter setting is remember-able, it means on next time logon, when check logs, the filter setting will be the previous setting.

But I think this is not necessary at all. example, 4 days' log is enough for me to look into for now. but may few days later I  4 days is not enough, I need to check the past 8 days.

so remember this setting and treat as configuration change is not necessary, also I don't care other administrators how long he check the log at all. In other word, whatever how long logs he/she want to check , I don't care about at all, I don't want to receive this type of notification.

But if you insist this is a new design on v3.7.3, I can't argue more.

"The other option is to just live with it or disable email notifications for configuration changes (but then this would apply to any configuration change and is likely not what you want to do)."

--> yes,  I don't want to disable all email notifications. And it's not able to confige log filter change notification setting single.  So at this moment, I can only select older firmware version.

My network manager card model is AP9619.

Thanks for your feedback. Keep in mind this older card is discontinued now and things have continued to evolve and change for our current generation of cards, the AP9630 and AP9631. These types of settings are now set on a per user basis which partly avoids what you're talking about.

I need to know what is under Administration->General->About. I know the model number is AP9619 but I need the applicaton module name - something like sy, sumx, sy3p, etc. I need to know this if you want me to provide older firmware. I wasn't sure if you want to downgrade or not based on what you said.
