I am new to managing a large scale ups so forgive the likely simpleton question:
I just inherited the IT duties for a company that has a Matrix5000 hooked to a Share-UPS AP9207 and I can't tell that any of the servers are actually being controlled. I need to know if any of the PowerChute software will give me the capability to manage the shutdown/startup of the servers that are mixed between 2003 and 2008 standard. I found the CD for PowerChute Plus but the newest OS listed is Windows 2000.
I have seen in other post that Windows 2008 server does not support serial UPS connections. Is this really the end all be all answer?
