Hallo,
I have a Smart-UPS (SMT1500I) with a Network-Management-Card (AP9631). On 2 Windows-Server is the PowerChute Network Shutdown-Software installed. It works fine.
One auf the Windows-Servers has an iSCSI-Drive on a NAS (Qnap TS-1079 Pro).
How must I configured the Network Shutdown-Software and the NAS to shutdown the NAS when the Power is off and the Sever shutdown?
The Qnap-NAS support an UPS via USB. But I read in the instruction of the UPS/Management-Card, that the USB-Port shall not use together with the Management-Card.
Thanks for information.

Hi,
You can connect the NAS to the UPS using USB when there is a NMC installed. The reason it is said not to use both NMC and USB together is because some people will attempt to use the NMC and PowerChute Business Edition or APCUPSD together. The issue that can arise is the UPS can be controlled by the NMC and PowerChute Business Edition or APCUPSD. So users could theoretically be making configuration changes to the UPS simultaneously on the NMC and PowerChute Business Edition or APCUPSD which can cause issues.

I guess in this case that simultaneous use of the NMC and USB connections will solve the problem. But generally speaking it would be great if there was a PCNS software package that could run on NASes like the QNAP.
