Keep in mind I am not the only person that contributes to the forum and have other obligations smile If you ever need an immediate response, please contact your local technical support office.

Please confirm the part numbers of the cables you tried. If it is an APC cable, the part number should be written on one of the DB-9 connectors and begin with 940-XXXX. Also, are you using any USB to serial adapters to convert the UPS serial connection to USB on your computer? Can you verify the serial port on your UPS is working properly?

Assuming you have the correct cable, you could try to talk directly to the UPS to see if it works properly. I need to make sure you have the correct cable part numbers before suggesting that and providing steps to avoid problems.

Lastly, you need to be using PowerChute Business Edition and not another variation like Personal Edition or Network Shutdown.

Thanks for your kind reply

Kindly note that we switch off the whole UPS and after sometimes switched back on.

Then deleted the Server from Powerchute and added again. It works.

Again the same problem is coming after shutdown.

Our Scenario

This UPS is in a remote site where we don't have 24 Hour Main Power Supply.

So we configured Powerchute Software to shutdown the server after 60 seconds  of power failure

We require the UPS to be off Fully so that the battery will not have any issue.

When the main power returns the UPS must start automatically and the server also

Kindly advice

Hi,

When logging in through the PowerChute web interface https:///:6547 does the page loaded and does UPS show as on line?

When the UPS goes on battery depending on how you have configured PowerChute OS should be shut down and the UPS should power down.

1 - UPS goes on battery

2 - PowerChute recognizes the on battery event and start shut down count down if configured to do so

3 - Time elapses and PowerChute sends shutdown command to OS and to UPS

4 - OS completes shutdown

5 - UPS power down delay elapses and UPS goes to sleep

As for the cable, that UPS uses SKU 940-0024 or 940-1524 These are DB9 to DB9 serial cable.
