RE APC UPS SUA and SMT 3000 self tests

Hi

we have several APC UPS 3000 upses. When these were originally installed and set up they were set to self -test "every 14th day". However we found that this was actually causing them to self test more frequently/irregularly than this. So we decided to set them up to option "UPS Startup and every 14 Days since last test". Now what seems to be happening is that the UPS will self test twice on the 14th day. See logs below. How do we get these UPS to just self test once, on the 14th day. The UPS are fitted with a AP9631 card and firmware on each has recently been upgraded to v5.1.7, with no change to problem.

12/22/2013    03:03:43    UPS: passed via internal operation a self-test.

12/22/2013    03:03:33    UPS: Started a self-test.

12/21/2013    23:59:43    UPS: passed via internal operation a self-test.

12/21/2013    23:59:35    UPS: Started a self-test.

  12/08/2013    02:43:55    UPS: passed via internal operation a self-test.

12/08/2013    02:43:47    UPS: Started a self-test.

12/08/2013    00:00:13    UPS: passed via internal operation a self-test.

12/08/2013    00:00:05    UPS: Started a self-test.

11/24/2013    02:23:56    UPS: passed via internal operation a self-test.

11/24/2013    02:23:48    UPS: Started a self-test.

11/24/2013    00:00:44    UPS: passed via internal operation a self-test.

11/24/2013    00:00:34    UPS: Started a self-test.

11/10/2013    02:03:52    UPS: passed via internal operation a self-test.

11/10/2013    02:03:44    UPS: Started a self-test.

11/10/2013    00:01:14    UPS: passed via internal operation a self-test.

11/10/2013    00:01:04    UPS: Started a self-test.

Can you verify the exact SKUs of the UPS models that you see this on? You reference SUA and SMT but we have a few varieties of each.

I also would like to understand the UPS firmware versions (you'll find those under UPS->About) in the v5.1.7 web UI.

Your issue reminded me of this thread but I think it's different because in BlueSky's issue, he was seeing a self test logged due to internal operation (automatic) and then management device (the NMC). -> SMT3000 self tests coming in pairs is confusing.

The other thing that comes to mind is understanding if you've verified on these UPSs that you have no USB or serial cables attached that could be contributing to the problem. Random cables attached with the NMC installed could cause a problem.
