Can't start PCNSConfig.sh after installation of POwerChute, what is wrong?

This was originally posted on APC forums on 8/11/2011

I have installed the PowerChute after downloading pcns224.tar.gz on my debian server, the Installation was saccessful, without any errors.
On the end otf the installation was written " you have now to start PCNSConfig.sh in your PowerChute Folder.
So i go to
/opt/APC/PowerChute/group1
and start it with ./PCNSConfig.sh

But then comes the error message:

"PowerChute Network shutdown is not installed.

Configuration canceled."

What is wrong?

try "bash install.sh" instead of ./install.sh

Hi Victor, is it possible the pcns client was installed in a different directory? the pcns config is require in order to set your communication settings for the pcns clinet. Another suggest i might make would be to use the latest version (pcns 3.0) and this software automatically runs the config when you login to the pcns client for the first time (instead of making you find the pcns.config file and executing it manually). hope this helps.

Hello Victor,

Could you tell me what you did to get it working?
I have the same problem.

pcns301 gives an error ;
./install.sh: 896: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting ")")

Thanks in advance.

Greetings.

Mike
