Battery Constant for SU1400RMXLI3U

I need Battery Constanct value for UPS SU1400RMXLI3U 230v This is an old discountinued UPS. It is suddenly behaving wrong. Battery charging stopping at 72%, battery volts stopping at 25.98. I check in EEPROM for option b and it is showing firmware *73.14.I* which i belive is wrong. i belive 73.14.I is for SU1400 and Not for XL model. Also when i did SHIFT+V it displays KWI which i belive should be LWI. So what is correct battery constant values so i can correct my UPS? anyonw know?

According to http://www.apcupsd.com/manual/manual.html#resetting-the-ups-battery-constant SU1400RMXLI3U have 73.14.I but it is wrong. It must be someting different. Batteries are only 3 months old. Problem started suddenly. so i strongly belive that its something to do with battery constant. But unable to correct my problem. Any help is highly apreciated.

Thanks

I have a question for you. I have an old SU2200 manufactured in 1999 and the battery voltage will never get above 95% or 54.04 volts. Do you think the procedure you've found will reset the float voltage and work to put my battery voltage back to 100%?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Hi I actually fixed my Smart-UPS with this procedure..hopefully it will help you

download apcfix.exe (google) you have to find it.. when you get to the page (yes it is in Russian) download the "newest version"

after installing

If you installed powerchute you must disable the service by going to CONTORL-ALT-DELETE start task manager under services tab, bottom click services, find APC PBE AGENT and stop the service..

When the service has been stopped then you open apcfix.exe and select the comm port ups is on..

it should open in a few seconds and make sure you model number is correct..

click options at the top..

click second option BATTERY CONSTANT FIX then CLOSE APCFIX.EXE

REOPEN APCFIX.EXE and you will here your unit being overwritten.. and the lights will stop flashing and battery constant will be fixed..

this helped me hope it will help you as well!!

You need to check multiple things. Try one by one and test if that works.
1. Set battery constant. My UPS have a problem that whenever it do auto TEST(scheduled monthly), it reset battery constant to wrong value, so i correct it on monthly bases. So first thing is correct battery constant. You can find your battery constant value at http://www.apcupsd.com/manual/manual.html#resetting-the-ups-battery-constant

your value will be something this depending upon your model:

SU2200XL,3000 35 EE FB AF

SUA2200I 08 B8 12 B3

SUA2200RMI2U 09 BC 11 81

SUA2200XLI 0A B7 0F 7F

2. Correct float volt. your float volt is little less. this could be a reason that ups stop charging at 95%. I belive that you are using 48v UPS so it should be 54.40 and not 54.04. For 24v UPS it should be 27.20.

Hopefully this will help.

Thanks for the response.  I reset the battery constant to hex AF and also found some resistors (R38, R43, R118 and R119) in the charger circuitry had drifted out of tolerance.  I replaced the resistors and the float voltage is now back up and the UPS indicates 100% charge.
