Batteries status: Not Installed

Hi.

A few days back, I was having troubles with my LX 1600 UPS. I had a couple of batteries in low capacity status. A few days after that I tried to replace the old batteries with new ones and it was useless. The UPS says me that the new batteries, and the old ones not  replaced yet, have an  Status of Not Installed.

Please, if anyone knows how to fix this, let know.

Thanks.

The only other thing you might need to do is turn the batteries on. They come turned off to prevent discharge when in storage. If you look at the front of the SYBT5 module, there is a black knob. See image here for what I am talking about -> SYBT5 - More Images

You'll need to make sure that is in the ON position which I believe is would be vertical. This is easy to do with a coin or similar to facilitate turning the knob.

This assumes you're inserting them directly into the Symmetra LX UPS battery bays. If you have any external run frames, the battery orientation/position is different so you can't always go by this positioning. In an XR frame, the batteries are rotated counter clockwise 90º on their side in their bays so "9 o clock" would be ON and "12 o clock" for OFF.

If this does not work, try turning off the battery again and back on. sometimes the switch does not catch to turn them on. If you're sure they are ON, you can try different bays if you do have batteries that work properly to verify there is not an issue with the particular bay.

What batteries did you replace? The Symmetra LX system has intelligence batteries and the entire SYBT5 module needs to be replaced. You should not be replacing the (10) 12vDC batteries within the module as the intelligence inside that module will not recognize that.

Hello Angela.

I replaced the hole SYBT5 module. I didn't open the module and replaced some batteries.
