APC7130 hooded power cords loosen very easily.

This was originally posted on APC forums on 6/13/2008

I'm managing about 600 servers and our company purchased about 80 of these PDU's. It uses a hooded power cord type plug, but one small but equals server down. So in the mean time of finding a proper solution I have zip tied all the plugs to the PDU. Not the best but a little more secure. Any help greatly appriciated.

I was goning to use those brackets. But After trying one if someone accidently hits the hood portion of the plug it will still come loose. Thats why I went with securing the hood to the PDU. I was just hoping that here may be some sort of clip to secure it because zip tying 600 servers is very time consuming.

Do you have pictures of your setup?

I think I know what you're talking about, but I need to make sure.

Also, the part number you provided, AP7130, didn't come up on the site.

Chuck,

Thanks for the clarification. It's a common problem when customers are not using the supplied cord retention bracket. I have attached some files so that you can see what we did here in tech support to display the way it should be done.
