3rd party PDU repairers

We have an AP7952 PDU that has just failed, but it is outside of warranty. APC doesn't repair these outside of warranty.

Can anyone tell me of a 3rd party repairer for these in Australia, preferably Sydney or at least NSW.

but anyway, maybe someone else knows of a repair place in your area ๐Ÿ˜•

most of us on the board are based in north america. did APC support in your region specifically state that nobody repairs these?

i don't know of anyone in the USA that repairs these so i'd assume its the same for Australia just because the type of product but i am wondering if support in that region would know - not sure if you asked since I know APC doesnt repair them (which you know.)

do you know whats wrong with it?

hm ok so based on the fact the outlets are off, i would assume that yes, there is a problem with it. when the PDU is power cycled, if the outlets were set to off via the management card somehow, they should come back on regardless of their state before the power cycle.

i assume you used the correct 940-0144 cable (RJ12->DB9) via terminal and tried multiple computers just to be sure (9600, 8, N, 1, No flow control). i only say because the LEDs seem fairly normal..

AFAIK there is no APC support centre in our region, but I stated clearly my location so I would assume they have taken that into account.

If there are no repairers in the US then that doesn't bode well for us here.

I'm fairly certain the management module is broken. We disconnected the PDU from the mains circuit for about 15 minutes then reconnected it, and after the management module booted up none of the outlets switched on. The management module appears to be completely unresponsive, both to network and serial. The PDU had been powered continuously for about a year and a half prior to this.

The management display shows all the normal signs of booting: the readout is blank, then shows 88 then eventually returns to 0; the line status is red, then transitions to green; the network port LEDs operate as per usual.

However none of the outlets turn on at all, and the management interface is not reachable at all by network or serial at any point during or after boot.

Well, all the ports were on prior to the PDU being disconnected from power, but that is irrelevant as the default state of the relays is off until the management module turns them on.

The correct cable was used (we have about 100 of these PDUs so cables are not in short supply), and I did try our standard remote console machine as well as another machine I use occasionally for configuring switches.
