Can someone help me understand how to establish communication between these three devices.
PLC - Modicon M580 BME P58 2040
Workbench - SCADAPack 300E TCP/IP
Vijeo Designer - HMI STU 855 touch panel

for HMI Communication it is very simple, please follow the attached print-screen setting after connecting the HMI to the service port of CRA
Also for communication between M580 HSBY and SCADAPack also you can use DTM request or ReadVar and WriteVar.

@Mnabil Thank you for your reply, much appreciated for getting back to me as soon as possible. Just a question, I'm guessing on the address settings, the IP address will be the address of the RTU?

Yes the equipment address window, is the IP address of M580 or SCADAPACK ; you will need to add two Modbus equipment (one for M580 and One for SCADAPACK)
For the M580 Connection, Please make sure you marked the M580 Redundant CPU in the bottom part of the window.

Sorry for this mix up, could you please tell me how to connect the PLC M580 to the RTU via geoSCADA?
You would generally not do this.
You might have:
PLC <-> RTU <-> GeoSCADA Expert
If you are in a low data bandwidth network (standard distributed telemetry network).
My preferred way to do this is to use the Modbus Scanner functionality of the SCADAPack (E series / x70 series) to do the ModbusTCP <-> DNP3 mapping.
Then you have DNP3 points for your GeoSCADA Expert.
You can configure both of these using the inbuilt GeoSCADA Expert configuration 'stuff' for the E series / x70 SCADAPacks also, so that the GeoSCADA Expert holds your entire RTU configuration.
