The Schneider Electric Remote Operations team is pleased to announce the release of the Redundant and Hardened SCADAPack 470R.

SCADAPack™ 470R is a rugged, high-availability Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), engineered for demanding process automation, asset management, and data acquisition systems in remote and harsh environments. Combining the telemetry capabilities of an RTU with the processing power of a PLC, the SCADAPack 470R system delivers resilient control and continuous operation where it matters most. Easy to use and flexible, the SCADAPack 470R helps safeguard infrastructure while simplifying integration into modern SCADA and IT (OT security) systems.
 
The Redundant SCADAPack 470R:

• Offers redundant control and DNP3 event management, using two connected SCADAPacks, for high availability systems where downtime cannot be tolerated
• Is capable of providing control, event logging, and telemetry communications as with any other SCADAPack model
• Is intended for use with key assets and remote infrastructure, such as extremely remote locations, critical processes, or where regulations require redundant control
• Provides support for Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and interfaces with standard IT tools such as Active Directory™, CyberArk™, and Syslog

How does the Redundant SCADAPack 470R work?

• One 470R acts as the Primary controller while the second acts as the Standby controller. All data and operational state information is constantly sync'd between the Primary and Standby.
• If the Primary controller becomes inactive, seamless assumption of control by the Standby controller helps to prevent disruption of communications or operations
• Communications, hardware functions, and I/O are configured with RemoteConnect™ software
• SCADAPack Logic Editor (based on Modicon’s EcoStruxure Control Expert™) works with RemoteConnect to provide IEC-61131-3 logic
