PowerLogic P5F30, DNP3 ethernet and communication Class

Hello,

We are making retrofit from Sepam40/Sepam20 to P5F30. We were communicating with sepam using modbus RTU + timestamping mailbox.
Of course, this function in P5 is different and we can't use the P5 event mechanic.

So, we decide to go to DNP3 protocol but

- I did not find any way to read DO relay in DNP3 and Virtual Outputs. In documentation, it looks like it exist. but with my Scada, when i browse the device, i don't find group 10. how can you read Virtual Output and Relay output status in DNP3 (with time stamped of course).

Concerning AI, i wanted to segregate AI by class to pull data less often for counter and statistic.

in Easergy pro (v4.10.2) i put different value to group class but when my Scada request group1 or group 2, look like the relay just ignore it and don't send any data.

Does someone already face to this problem ?

Hello @CCM

Regarding the binary output, actually there is no data point for Virtual Output and Relay output status actually. This is the current design like that.

Regarding the AI problem, not sure it is related with the class configuration/ data point configuration, or the DNP3 frame sent from master. Could you please provide the *.epz file and DNP3 frames between DNP3 master and P5 captured by Wireshark or other tool for analysis? This will be helpful to understand the problem.

Please make sure after the any modification the P5 device has been reboot which is required.

BR

Shaogang - from P5 design team

Thanks for the prompt reply @Shaogang_WANG .

For the output and relay, i think i will find another solution. DNP3 look like too limited and i have moved to IEC61850 (even if i don't have relay output yet in IEC61850, i will use VO GGIO). Anyway, i did not give up with DNP3 because this protocol has several advantages for me.
For the moment, i can't do a test platform due to relay have been install on site and this is not possible to make test on live equipment.
please find the configuration file and print screen of data i try to change classe below

CCM_1-1762406040469.png

i just want to point if i put class 0 in my Scada, i receive them properly.
But the goal is to get them with different time pooling to reduce traffic as below
- Status/Alarm => class 0 and refresh on change by relay
- Measure => class 1 with pulling by Scada every 3 second. no push by relay (deadband is manage at Scada level)
- Counter (energy) ==> class 2 with pulling by Scada every min or hour (not specified yet).

I hope i success to explain our need. I am open on any advice as at the moment, we use SEPAM40 wit modbus serial time stamping (mailbox). P5 is our goal for migration in the future.
Please find configuration file (zip)attached.
Thanks again.
