MiCOM P242 IEC870-5-103

Hello,

I have a question regarding P242 IEC870-5-103 addresses. I've downloaded the relay database excel file and I'm curious what does it mean in the table when there isn't a "star" in the model number column, does that mean that that address doesn't exist for the relay to send? I'm attaching an image with example. For signal DDB_ANY_TRIP there is a "star" and fothe DB_MIN_F_1_START doesn not. How can I send the second signal to RTU? Also what does the column GI mean ?

Hello @Benjamin4

Yes, your understanding is right. When there isn't a "star" in the model number column, that address doesn't exist for the relay to send. You have to workaround to send the DB_MIN_F_1_START information, like mapping it to the IEC 103 available output signal (output relay/alarm DDB).

The field GI indicates whether the information is included in the general interrogation. For these
INFORMATION NUMBERs both status changes (‘OFF’ to ‘ON’ and ‘ON’ to ‘OFF’) are also transmitted
spontaneously. For the other INFORMATION NUMBERs only the status changes ‘OFF’ to ‘ON’ are
transmitted.
